| Youth Coaching |
| The coaches at Orpington are all qualified to at least Rugby Level One, and some to Level Two. It is our policy that any helper or potential coach is trained to at least Level One before they can train a child without close supervision. |

A good grounding in the basic skills of the game ensures that our members enjoy their rugby safely |

Rugby is a contact sport. In the Minis members start with Tag Rugby, but contact is introduced as the age groups progress. We ensure that players understand the importance of the correct techniques and body positions when involved in contact situations |

| Mini Coaching |
| |
|
The Mini game is generally a "no contact" game, and the coaching focuses on handling skills, and developing the ethos of playing as a team, rather than an individual.
It is important in these age groups that the young players are closely monitored, and constantly occupied, if they are to enjoy and take up the sport.
We ask that only children who are registered mini players, and keen to take part, attend our traing sessions. This ensures the enjoyment of all present.
We cannot accept responsibility for supervising or monitoring the behaviour of children who are not members of the Mini rugby group. |

The club is always happy to welcome new coaching staff. We can never have too much help at any age group. If you would like to take part in a particular group, the supervisor will be happy to discuss it with you. |
